He joined AIA Australia in 2016 and exits the Chief Risk Officer role.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_59859\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59859\" style=\"width: 151px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2022\/03\/mike-thornton-e1646699280312.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-59859\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2022\/03\/mike-thornton-e1646699280312.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"151\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-59859\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mike Thornton.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The insurer says that during his career Thornton has demonstrated his commitment to driving sustainable business practices and making a difference for AIA Australia\u2019s customers.<\/p>\n<p>CEO and Managing Director of AIA Australia, <strong>Damien Mu<\/strong> says he is thrilled to announce Thornton&#8217;s appointment. &#8220;This is an exciting milestone in AIA Australia\u2019s journey and his leadership will ensure that we are set up for success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thornton says that during the six years he has been AIA\u2019s Chief Risk Officer, he has worked with all areas of the business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe we have a great opportunity to build upon the good work we have been doing by enhancing the end-to-end experience for our people, partners, and customers. We\u2019re now investing in our business to create a simpler, faster, and more connected experience for them.
