The AFA’s President Sam Perera<\/strong> and CEO Phil Anderson<\/strong> will take advisers through the Quality of Advice Review final report and explain why the AFA strongly supports the recommendations during a webinar on March 8, 2023.<\/p>\n

In a statement on the webinar, the AFA says there is no doubt that there are a number of recommendations \u201c\u2026where they are obviously beneficial for both clients and advisers, such as the removal of Fee Disclosure Statements.\u201d<\/p>\n

It says there are others \u201c\u2026where there is more argument, such as the proposal for non-relevant providers to provide personal financial advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The association says it has argued for greater controls to be applied to this \u201c\u2026and for higher education standards to be created.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will also explain why we think that this recommendation does have a role to play in the right circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n

The AFA says the QoA Review recommendations have been presented as a package \u201c\u2026and it will take strong advocacy to ensure that these changes are implemented.\u201d<\/p>\n

It says all have role to play in ensuring that this happens “…however it starts with having a clear understanding of what has been proposed and why it is good for clients and advisers.\u201d<\/p>\n
