TAL had previously won the overall Platinum award for five consecutive years since 2017.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62438\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62438\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2022\/09\/sam-perera-e1662000964523.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-62438\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2022\/09\/sam-perera-e1662000964523-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2022\/09\/sam-perera-e1662000964523-250x300.jpg 250w, https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2022\/09\/sam-perera-e1662000964523-351x420.jpg 351w, https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2022\/09\/sam-perera-e1662000964523.jpg 586w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62438\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sam Perera &#8230;life insurance companies continue to innovate and adapt to the changing environment&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>AFA President, <strong>Sam Perera<\/strong>, congratulated NEOS on winning the platinum award and all the winners and finalists of individual awards.<\/p>\n<p>He says that despite the challenges in this sector in recent years \u201c\u2026life insurance companies continue to innovate and adapt to the changing environment. Most important is their ongoing role in providing certainty and security to millions of Australians every year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The categories include the overall Platinum Award, together with individual product awards, offered in conjunction with Plan For Life, and the Client Service Team Awards presented in association with the Beddoes Institute.<\/p>\n<p>NEOS also won the Service Quality award (for the second year in a row) and the Term and TPD product categories, while TAL took out the both the Trauma and Income Protection categories.<\/p>\n<p>The AFA notes that the overall award and product awards are based around Plan For Life\u2019s Risk Products Benchmarking services, which benchmarks retail life insurers across five key metrics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Financial strength<\/li>\n<li>Product features<\/li>\n<li>Premium rates<\/li>\n<li>Service and market strength<\/li>\n<li>Sustainability of product features and premium rates, engagement, and health &amp; wellness are also rated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Innovation awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Innovation &#8211; Product category, PPS Mutual was the winner while TAL was awarded in the Innovation -Health and Wellness category.
