{"id":65384,"date":"2023-04-17T15:06:57","date_gmt":"2023-04-17T04:06:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=65384"},"modified":"2023-04-17T15:06:57","modified_gmt":"2023-04-17T04:06:57","slug":"3000-advisers-may-benefit-from-proposed-experience-pathway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2023\/04\/17\/3000-advisers-may-benefit-from-proposed-experience-pathway\/","title":{"rendered":"3,000+ Advisers May Benefit from Proposed Experience Pathway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than 3,000 advisers may potentially benefit from the proposed experience pathway, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/wealthdata.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wealth Data<\/a> analysis.<\/p>\n<p>In his weekly analysis of adviser numbers, Wealth Data\u2019s <strong>Colin Williams<\/strong> explains that advisers who had 10 years experience between Jan 1, 2004 and Jan 1, 2019 may be exempt from needing to attain an approved degree by Jan 1, 2026 (see: <a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2022\/08\/30\/new-pathway-for-experienced-advisers-proposed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Pathway for Experienced Advisers Proposed<\/a>).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_56513\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-56513\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2021\/07\/colin-williams.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-56513\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2021\/07\/colin-williams.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-56513\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Colin Williams.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Williams notes that to benefit from the proposed experienced pathway, the adviser must have commenced pre Jan 1, 2009, at a minimum.<\/p>\n<p>He states there are 8,239 advisers in this category and 5,073 or 61.57% have a degree of some description.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means that 38.43% of advisers who commenced pre-2009 do not have a degree on the FAR &#8211; or 3,166 advisers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams adds that many of the 3,166 may well be progressing towards a degree \u201c\u2026we just don\u2019t know. But for those who have not commenced, time is running out.
