{"id":65744,"date":"2023-05-15T12:37:54","date_gmt":"2023-05-15T01:37:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=65744"},"modified":"2025-03-14T12:02:23","modified_gmt":"2025-03-14T01:02:23","slug":"report-highlights-average-number-of-clients-per-adviser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2023\/05\/15\/report-highlights-average-number-of-clients-per-adviser\/","title":{"rendered":"Report Highlights Average Number of Clients Per Adviser"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"header row\">\n<div class=\"intro\">\n<h3>Most interest this week was directed to our report on a finding in Adviser Rating&#8217;s latest Landscape Report, which revealed a change in the average number of clients served by advisers&#8230;<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Several years of industry departures have resulted in the\u00a0 profession\u2019s remaining advisers taking on a higher volume of clients, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adviserratings.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adviser Ratings<\/a> latest <a href=\"https:\/\/app.hubspot.com\/documents\/5373226\/view\/507378549?accessId=178a05\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Landscape Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report says this has played out again in 2022 \u201c\u2026with the average adviser now serving 91 clients \u2013 eight more than they saw in 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A table within the report highlights the average number of clients per adviser by State over the past five years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_65746\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-65746\" style=\"width: 311px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2023\/05\/AR-all-e1684198908563.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-65746\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2023\/05\/AR-all-e1684198908563.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"311\" height=\"571\" srcset=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2023\/05\/AR-all-e1684198908563.png 311w, https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2023\/05\/AR-all-e1684198908563-163x300.png 163w, https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2023\/05\/AR-all-e1684198908563-229x420.png 229w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-65746\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Courtesy of Adviser Ratings.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The report adds that advisers are still taking on more &#8216;one-off&#8217; clients than they were a couple of years ago, adding &#8220;&#8230;sometimes, these clients are seeking piecemeal advice, while other times they\u2019re testing the waters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It states that the higher client load means advisers have to become more efficient in their operations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Often, this means turning to technology or outsourcing to reduce their administration burden and allow them to spend more time with clients face-to-face.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;for many advisers the reality of a higher client load is simply more hours in the office&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However it says that for many advisers &#8220;&#8230; the reality of a higher client load is simply more hours in the office. Of course, this comes at the cost of time with family and leisure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Eighteen months ago, the firm reported on a study from Dr Adam Fraser, Deakin University and AIA, which showed three-quarters of advisers were facing burnout.
