{"id":67322,"date":"2023-08-25T09:56:34","date_gmt":"2023-08-24T23:56:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=67322"},"modified":"2023-09-12T11:01:21","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T01:01:21","slug":"key-appointment-at-centrepoint-alliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2023\/08\/25\/key-appointment-at-centrepoint-alliance\/","title":{"rendered":"Key Appointment at Centrepoint Alliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The former managing director of ClearView Wealth has been named as the new Chair of the Centrepoint Alliance Board.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the company says it welcomes <strong>Simon Swanson<\/strong> to his new role as Chair, noting he brings with him \u201c\u2026an extensive 40-year background in the financial services sector with over 25 years\u2019 experience as a Managing Director of four financial services businesses in multiple jurisdictions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_67330\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-67330\" style=\"width: 132px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2023\/08\/simon-swanson.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-67330\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2023\/08\/simon-swanson.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"132\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-67330\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simon Swanson &#8230;an extensive 40-year background in the financial services sector<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Swanson retired from his role as Managing Director at ClearView Wealth in May this year,\u00a0 following 12 years leading the firm (see: <a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2023\/05\/01\/clearview-wealth-appoints-ceo\/)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ClearView Wealth Appoints CEO<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>He was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Centrepoint Alliance in November 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Swanson replaces <strong>Alan Fisher<\/strong> who, the company says, has decided to step down\u00a0 \u201c..after an impactful seven-year tenure as Chair of the Board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It says Fisher\u2019s leadership has been instrumental in guiding Centrepoint Alliance through significant industry change \u201c\u2026including the transition to a fee-for-service business model and the successful acquisition of the ClearView Advice business, which has positioned Centrepoint Alliance as the third largest licensee in Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It also notes that <strong>Sandy Beard<\/strong> \u201c\u2026a valued director and substantial investor has also decided to resign from his directorship&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The firm says Beard\u2019s contributions have been notable \u201c\u2026particularly his involvement in the successful execution of the ClearView Advice acquisition in 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The former managing director of ClearView Wealth has been named as the new Chair of the Centrepoint Alliance Board.
