{"id":68600,"date":"2023-11-14T08:05:30","date_gmt":"2023-11-13T22:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=68600"},"modified":"2023-11-15T05:13:04","modified_gmt":"2023-11-14T19:13:04","slug":"australian-unity-sells-advice-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2023\/11\/14\/australian-unity-sells-advice-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Australian Unity Sells Advice Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AFS licensee,<a href=\"https:\/\/fortnum.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Fortnum Private Wealth<\/a> and AZ NGA-owned advisory firm, <a href=\"https:\/\/nestworth.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nestworth Financial Strategists<\/a> have teamed up to acquire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australianunity.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian Unity\u2019s<\/a> Financial Advice business and forge an ongoing tripartite alliance.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the companies says that as part of the deal, Nestworth, which is a corporate authorised representative of Fortnum, will acquire Australian Unity\u2019s employed advice business consisting of 18 employee financial advisers. It will also acquire the group\u2019s corporate superannuation services business.<\/p>\n<p>Nestworth will also become one of Australian Unity\u2019s preferred advice providers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35393\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35393\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/11\/NeilYounger-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35393\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2016\/11\/NeilYounger-cropped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35393\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Neil Younger &#8230;the deal will deliver immediate scale and synergy benefits<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Concurrently, Fortnum will purchase Australian Unity\u2019s financial advice AFSL holder Australian Unity Personal Financial Services Ltd (PFS) and, through this entity, continue to provide licensing and business support to PFS\u2019s 150 self-employed advisers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neil Younger,<\/strong> CEO at Fortnum, says the deal will deliver immediate scale and synergy benefits, increasing the combined number of advisers across two AFS licences to circa 400.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScale is increasingly important because it enables licensees to offer a broader range of solutions and better support underlying businesses, but we\u2019re not interested in growth for the sake of it.
