All submissions were judged by industry leaders from various disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Winners for each award category will be announced at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aluca.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ALUCA\u2019s<\/a> Life Insurance Excellence Awards night on Thursday 25 July in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists for each of the Life Insurance Excellence Award categories are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Life Insurance Excellence Leadership Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ALUCA says this award acknowledges an individual life insurance leader who has demonstrated excellence by driving successful life insurance strategies with strong customer outcomes and has been a people leader for at least six years.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Darren Leonard &#8211; Northern Underwriting Manager at MLC Life Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Jayne Edwards &#8211; Practice Lead \u2013 New Business Operational Excellence (COE) at Zurich<\/li>\n<li>Joan Xu &#8211; Team Manager &#8211; Group Long Term IP Team at AIA Australia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Life Insurance Excellence Professional Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This award recognises an individual life insurance professional who has demonstrated excellence via their achievement of key business and customer outcomes. This could be in claims, underwriting, rehabilitation or life insurance professional services such as forensic accounting and legal services.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>June Khaw &#8211; Rehabilitation Consultant at Hannover Re<\/li>\n<li>Summer Zhu &#8211; Chief Medical Officer at TAL Australia<\/li>\n<li>Torrent Woodard &#8211; Underwriting Technical Lead at MLC Life Insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Life Insurance Excellence Rising Star Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recognises a\u202flife\u202finsurance individual with less than three years in the life insurance industry who has demonstrated excellence in a life insurance claims, underwriting or rehabilitation, over and above business-as-usual.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Amy Lee &#8211; AIA Claims Manager, CSC Team at AIA Australia<\/li>\n<li>Christie Meyrick &#8211; Senior Case Manager at MetLife Australia<\/li>\n<li>Sean Marais &#8211; Financial Claims Consultant at Hannover Re<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Life Insurance Excellence David Mico Industry Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This special award is presented to an ALUCA member who has actively been involved in challenging and promoting the life insurance industry. This could be volunteering at ALUCA, being part of a life insurance industry group, and\/or excelling in their ongoing professional development specific to life insurance.
