to formalise the industry\u2019s support of people living with HIV.\u00a0It means life insurers will treat the condition the same as any other medical condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese amendments reflect the modern society we live in and a deep commitment by our members to fairness,\u201d says <strong>Christine Cupitt<\/strong>, CEO, CALI. &#8220;Life insurers recognise the significant determine their risk of contracting a sexually transmitted infection, including HIV and AIDS, during the underwriting assessment.<\/p>\n<p>While many life insurers have already implemented these practices, Cupitt says formalising them in the code was a strong signal of the industry\u2019s commitment to modern standards of privacy and fairness.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the changes, a <a href=\"https:\/\/cali.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CALI_guidance_note_HIV_Aids_2_pages.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">consumer information fact sheet<\/a> is
