{"id":77614,"date":"2025-06-10T12:32:18","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T01:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=77614"},"modified":"2025-06-16T17:40:22","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T06:40:22","slug":"john-trowbridge-awarded-oam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2025\/06\/10\/john-trowbridge-awarded-oam\/","title":{"rendered":"John Trowbridge Awarded OAM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prominent industry figure, <strong>John Trowbridge<\/strong>, has been recognised in the King&#8217;s Birthday Honours List with an Order of Australia Medal for his &#8220;&#8230;significant service to business, to the risk management sector and to the actuarial profession.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51351\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51351\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2020\/08\/John-Trowbridge.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51351\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2020\/08\/John-Trowbridge.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51351\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">John Trowbridge OAM<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A release from the Actuaries Institute notes the award recognises Trowbridge&#8217;s distinguished career as an actuary, consultant, executive, company director and regulator, with his expertise fundamentally shaping Australia&#8217;s insurance landscape and regulatory framework: \u201cHis leadership has influenced major reforms across the financial services industry and enhanced protection for Australian consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Institute notes Trowbridge&#8217;s regulatory and policy contributions include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chairing the Australian Government&#8217;s review of natural disaster insurance following the 2011 floods<\/li>\n<li>Leading the Life Insurance &amp;
