{"id":78732,"date":"2025-08-28T17:50:37","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T07:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=78732"},"modified":"2025-08-28T17:50:37","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T07:50:37","slug":"assistant-treasurer-to-address-faaa-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2025\/08\/28\/assistant-treasurer-to-address-faaa-congress\/","title":{"rendered":"Assistant Treasurer to Address FAAA Congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, <strong>Dr Daniel Mulino<\/strong>, will headline the FAAA\u2019s annual <a href=\"https:\/\/events.faaa.au\/2025-faaa-congress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Congress<\/a> in Perth.<\/p>\n<p>He will appear on Wednesday 19 November in a keynote session, <em>Minister &amp; CEO: In Conversation<\/em>, where he will outline the Government\u2019s priorities for the advice sector before joining FAAA CEO <strong>Sarah Abood<\/strong> for a Q&amp;A session.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_77241\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-77241\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-77241\" src=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/files\/2025\/05\/fraser-daniel-mulino.png\" alt=\"Dr Daniel Mulino has accepted the role of Assistant Treasurer and Financial Services Minister.\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-77241\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr Daniel Mulino, Assistant Treasurer and Financial Services Minister.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It will be Mulino\u2019s first address to the FAAA membership since taking on the financial services portfolio following the May Federal election.<\/p>\n<p>The session is expected to cover pressing issues including the rising cost of advice, adviser attrition, and the sustainability of the CSLR.<\/p>\n<p>In July, with CSLR claims relating to personal advice heading toward $67m for the 2025-26 year \u2013 well above the $20m limit on levies \u2013 Mulino asked Treasury to look at the options available to \u201cdeal with this matter\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Abood said the Minister\u2019s participation at the conference offered an important opportunity for practitioners to hear directly from Government at a time of significant industry change.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 FAAA Congress, themed <em>Ahead of the Curve<\/em>, will run from 18\u201320 November at the Perth Convention &amp; Exhibition Centre, bringing together advisers, policymakers and industry leaders to debate the future of financial advice.<\/p>\n<p>Further details and registration information are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/events.faaa.au\/2025-faaa-congress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FAAA Congress 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, Dr Daniel Mulino, will headline the FAAA\u2019s annual Congress in Perth.
