{"id":80613,"date":"2025-12-11T17:27:20","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T06:27:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=80613"},"modified":"2025-12-11T17:27:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T06:27:20","slug":"afs-licence-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2025\/12\/11\/afs-licence-suspended\/","title":{"rendered":"AFS Licence Suspended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The AFS licence of MW Planning Pty Ltd has been suspended until 8 June 2026 by ASIC, which cited the firm\u2019s failure to meet organisational competence and human resources obligations.<\/p>\n<p>ASIC said the firm did not appoint a new responsible manager following the banning of its previous responsible manager, <strong>Robert John Tohill<\/strong>, on 25 August 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator also found that MW Planning failed to lodge its 2024 financial statements and auditor\u2019s opinion, and did not report these breaches.<\/p>\n<p>MW Planning, which holds AFS licence number 312489, is a subsidiary of MWL Financial Group Pty Ltd, currently in administration. The parent company also owns MWL Financial Services Pty Ltd, which is in liquidation.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2025, ASIC cancelled the AFS licence of MWL Financial Services and banned Tohill from providing financial services.<\/p>\n<p>During the suspension period, MW Planning is required to remain a member of AFCA and maintain professional indemnity insurance.
