{"id":82042,"date":"2026-04-20T10:04:43","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T00:04:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=82042"},"modified":"2026-04-24T12:08:58","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T02:08:58","slug":"acenda-updates-retail-life-portfolio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2026\/04\/20\/acenda-updates-retail-life-portfolio\/","title":{"rendered":"Acenda Updates Retail Life Offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Acenda Life has rolled out a suite of product and pricing changes across its Retail Life Insurance portfolio, effective 11 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The insurer confirmed that pricing adjustments are limited to base rates and factors, with no changes to the underlying structure used to calculate premiums or discounts.<\/p>\n<p>A key component of the update is an increase to income thresholds used to determine income replacement ratios for Income Protection policies.<\/p>\n<p>Under the revised settings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover provides a 70% replacement ratio for income up to $300,000 (up from $240,000)<\/li>\n<li>50% for income between $300,001 (up from $240,001) and $500,000 (up from $480,000); and<\/li>\n<li>20% for income above $500,000 (up from $480,000), subject to a maximum monthly benefit of $30,000<\/li>\n<li>The 20% Booster Option remains available for the first six months (where applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Maximum entry ages have also been lifted across multiple cover types, including Life, TPD, Critical Illness, Income Protection and Business Expenses<\/li>\n<li>Life cover is now available up to age 75 (up from 69) outside super and 70 (up from 69) inside super, while TPD, Income Protection and Business Expenses extend to age 60 (up from 59), and Critical Illness to age 62 (up from 59)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Within Income Protection, Acenda Life has removed the Severe Disability Terms Removal Option from its Income Assure product. The change, the insurer states, is intended to simplify its offering and remove the need for multiple cover variants previously associated with the option.<\/p>\n<p>Other updates include extending the timeframe for converting Child Critical Illness policies to an adult policy without medical evidence, now available up to age 21 (an increase of 12 months).<\/p>\n<p>The insurer has also introduced a series of general updates to product disclosure wording, including clarifications to the:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover Bounce-back feature<\/li>\n<li>Additional information on payment methods, and<\/li>\n<li>The inclusion of additional support information for vulnerable customers aligned with broader Life Insurance Code of Practice changes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See the latest Acenda Product Disclosure Statements <a href=\"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/resource-centre\/category\/acenda-product-disclosure-statements\/?resource=current\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Acenda Life has rolled out a suite of product and pricing changes across its Retail Life Insurance portfolio, effective 11 April 2026.
