{"id":83403,"date":"2026-07-30T16:31:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T06:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=83403"},"modified":"2026-07-30T16:33:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T06:33:35","slug":"court-approves-zurichs-acquisition-of-clearview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2026\/07\/30\/court-approves-zurichs-acquisition-of-clearview\/","title":{"rendered":"Court Approves Zurich&#8217;s Acquisition of ClearView"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court of New South Wales has approved the scheme of arrangement under which Zurich Financial Services Australia will acquire all of the shares in ASX-listed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clearview.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ClearView Wealth<\/a>, paving the way for the transaction to be completed in August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>ClearView said the court on Thursday 30 July approved the scheme of arrangement under which Zurich will acquire all of the company&#8217;s ordinary shares, following shareholder approval on Monday 27 July.<\/p>\n<p>The firm intends to lodge a copy of the court orders with ASIC on Friday 31 July, when the scheme will become legally effective. ClearView will also apply for its shares to be suspended from trading on the ASX from the close of trading on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible shareholders registered on the company&#8217;s share register at 7pm (Sydney time) on 5 August are expected to receive a fully franked special dividend of five cents a share on 12 August.<\/p>\n<p>Shareholders registered on the scheme record date of 7pm (Sydney time) on 13 August will receive the scheme consideration of 60 cents in cash for each ClearView share held.
