Zurich Financial Services Australia has announced the appointment of former AMP CEO Alexis George<\/strong> as Independent Non-Executive Director to its Board.<\/p>\n

Alexis George<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The insurer says George has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services, including most recently as CEO of AMP.<\/p>\n

Prior to this, she held several senior leadership positions at ANZ, including Deputy CEO, Group Executive of Wealth Australia, and Global Managing Director of Insurance for ANZ Wealth.<\/p>\n

George’s appointment follows the resignation of former Independent Non\u2011Executive Director, John Mulcahy<\/strong>, who has served since 2017 and brought significant industry experience to the role, including previously as CEO at Suncorp.<\/p>\n

Chair, Geoff Summerhayes<\/strong>, says he is delighted to welcome George to the Board.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe brings exceptional depth and breadth of experience to the role and her insights will be invaluable as the organisation continues to grow and evolve across Australia and New Zealand.\u201d<\/p>\n

George has also previously held executive roles at ING Group, including Regional Head of Operations, Information Technology, Marketing and Product for Asia Pacific, CEO of Insurance & Direct Banking for the Czech and Slovak Republics, and Executive Director for Australia.<\/p>\n

Justin Delaney<\/strong>, Zurich\u2019s CEO, says George has led large organisations through significant change.\u00a0\u201cShe is purpose-led with a clear focus on improving customer outcomes and strengthening internal culture,\u201d noting she will be an important addition to the Board as the company continues to scale the business.<\/p>\n
