{"id":8548,"date":"2010-11-22T09:06:54","date_gmt":"2010-11-21T22:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=8548"},"modified":"2020-02-06T08:12:58","modified_gmt":"2020-02-05T21:12:58","slug":"mlc-extends-best-doctors-to-protectionfirst","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2010\/11\/22\/mlc-extends-best-doctors-to-protectionfirst\/","title":{"rendered":"MLC Extends Best Doctors to Protectionfirst"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MLC has confirmed that it will extend its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mlc.com.au\/mlc\/im_considering_mlc\/personal\/insurance\/mlc_insurance_solutions\/personal_insurance\/best_doctors?WT.ac=Best Doctors - Expert medical advice - exclusive to MLC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Best Doctors<\/a> medical advice service to its\u00a0Protection<em>first<\/em> clients.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In a message to advisers released last week <strong>Aubrey Roga<\/strong>, MLC&#8217;s Head of Insurance Sales, announced that formerly Aviva, now MLC clients with a Protection<em>first <\/em>policy with Critical Illness cover that commenced after February 2002 would be eligible to take advantage of MLC&#8217;s Best Doctors service.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Roga said that Protection<em>first <\/em>is a crucial part of the MLC business and that the company remains committed to actively managing the Protection<em>first<\/em> book of business.\u00a0 He also confirmed that MLC would continue to invest in Risk<em>first<\/em>, the technology platform which supports Protection<em>first.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mr Roga also indicated that pricing changes would be implemented on a number of existing Protection<em>first <\/em>policy series.\u00a0 According to Mr Roga the premium rate changes, which will be confirmed in the coming weeks, will assist MLC to manage their insurance products as &#8220;one book of business&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Protection<em>first <\/em>is the former Aviva insurance offer, which was rebadged as part of MLC&#8217;s takeover of the company earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Best Doctors, an initiative launched by MLC in 2009, provides eligible policy holders and their immediate family with access to world class medical advice whenever\u00a0it is needed.\u00a0 The\u00a0service provides a dedicated point of contact for the client when needed most.\u00a0\u00a0 It collects all existing medical information\u00a0from which\u00a0a detailed clinical summary is created and given to an appropriate, peer nominated,\u00a0Best Doctors specialist for review and recommendations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MLC has confirmed that it will extend its Best Doctors medical advice service to its\u00a0Protectionfirst clients.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4,5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-8548","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-products","category-services"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8548","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/7"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=8548"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8548\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=8548"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=8548"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=8548"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
