{"id":9666,"date":"2011-03-22T16:58:41","date_gmt":"2011-03-22T05:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/?p=9666"},"modified":"2021-01-13T06:35:16","modified_gmt":"2021-01-12T20:35:16","slug":"risk-store-life-risk-champion-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riskinfo.com.au\/news\/2011\/03\/22\/risk-store-life-risk-champion-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"risk store Life Risk Champion 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The risk store has launched its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theriskstore.com.au\/liferiskchampionaward.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2011 Life Risk Champion of the Year Award<\/a>\u00a0with a call for nominations of those who have actively championed the life insurance cause over the last twelve months.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Now in its fourth year, the award considers relevant nominations based on the criteria as well as\u00a0the total number of\u00a0nominations received for each person.<\/p>\n<p>risk store founder <strong>Sue Laing<\/strong> commented, &#8220;There are loads of financial services industry awards for products and service and for business and personal achievement in the adviser space, but none for other non-advisory individuals whose passion and commitment make them shine in their field &#8211; particularly in the life risk area where \u2018mainstream&#8217; media still struggle to appreciate the value of our contribution to Australians&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s why, when [inaugural winner] <strong>David Mico <\/strong>sadly passed away prematurely after a career of extraordinary but quiet achievement, the idea came to us for the Award,&#8221; said Ms Laing.<\/p>\n<p>Past winners are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2008: <strong>David Mico<\/strong> &#8211; IFSA<\/li>\n<li>2009: <strong>Peter Sobels<\/strong> &#8211; riskinfo<\/li>\n<li>2010: <strong>Fiona Navarro<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211;
