TAL General Manager, Retail Distribution Niall McConville said the program had also added CPD accreditation with the Tax Practitioners Board to sit alongside that already offered in line with accreditation for Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) and Financial Planning Association (FPA) requirements.

He said TAL had partnered with Charles Sturt University to offer credits from TAL Risk Academy classes towards degree qualifications offered through the university, and the moves were a result of feedback from advisers on flexibility and accessibility.

“We understand the time demands placed on advisers and our intent is to help our advisers attain the necessary and important education easily,” McConville  said, adding that extended sessions focusing on estate planning  and engaging new clients had been added to the 29 course curriculum.

“We wanted to reward advisers who are dedicated to quality advice outcomes by providing them with continuous professional development that encompassed a combination of workshop style and webinar sessions. Our client engagement courses have all been designed to enable advisers to generate leads and grow their business.

The TAL Risk Academy was launched in February 2015 and in February 2016 five new courses were added providing more than 60 CPD points across the full curriculum.
