Specialist insurers MLC Life Insurance and TAL have both been awarded citations for their high gender equality standards.

MLC Life Insurance CEO, David Hackett

The citations form part of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s annual Employer of Choice recognition for gender equality, where MLC Life Insurance and TAL were two of 140 organisations across Australia to receive the citation, which is bestowed on companies and organisations that meet what the WGEA refers to as rigorous standards in workplace gender equality.

In a release acknowledging the accolade, MLC Life Insurance CEO, David Hackett, said, “I’m proud that MLC Life Insurance has been awarded the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality Citation. As a WGEA Pay Equity Ambassador, I personally believe in creating equity in our society. This citation is a significant achievement and demonstrates our organisation’s commitment to gender equality and inclusion.”

Speaking of his company’s commitment to gender equality, Hackett added that “Our aspiration is for every employee, to bring their whole selves to work so that we can embrace diverse perspectives and improve our employee and customer experience.”

TAL Chief, Brett Clark

Responding to the same citation, TAL Group’s CEO and Managing Director, Brett Clark, commented that the organisation he heads “… has an ongoing commitment to workplace pay equity and gender equality. It is a key part of our strategy, culture and values,”, said Clark, adding that TAL watches and monitors this strategy closely.”

TAL also noted that, as part of its ongoing focus on gender equity and Clark’s personal commitment to pay equity, Clark became a Pay Equity Ambassador in 2015.
