MetLife Australia has announced a new podcast series to be added to its suite of existing assistance and education tools for advisers.
A statement from the insurer says that each episode of the podcast, titled MetLife Insights, will feature a different adviser or licensee talking about their business and career, offering tips and advice, and discussing how they’ve overcome the challenges they’ve faced along the way.
It says that reflecting the current environment, the podcasts will initially have a Covid-19 lens and explore how advisers have adapted their business.
However, the company says it plans for the series to continue beyond the pandemic and explore a wide range of issues facing the advice industry.
Gary Bailison, Head of Individual Insurance at MetLife Australia, says the company is an active supporter of the advice industry and wants to play a role in helping advisers navigate the evolving environment.
“With our podcast, we hope to create a feeling of connection and community for advisers as they adapt to both the changes brought about by Covid-19, and those that were reshaping the industry even before the pandemic.”
MetLife is also offering a series of webinars to help advisers get ready for the FASEA exams. The exam deadline has now been extended until January 2022.
Bailison notes that there are around 15,000 financial advisers currently waiting to take the FASEA exam, the outcome of which will have a direct impact on their livelihoods.
“By providing insight and support that will help guide their preparation, we are hoping to help put them in the best possible position to succeed,” he says.
The company has also rolled out a series of webinars since April that address key topics for advisers, such as underwriting during a pandemic, along with soft skills development, such as developing a growth mindset and a leader’s guide to success.
In addition, it has launched online support tools for advisers which include materials to help them answer client questions and resources for clients and advisers covering topics like keeping healthy while working from home and managing your team remotely.
