The results form our latest poll suggest strong adviser support for specialist learning streams to be included in future adviser education standards.

Since we launched this poll last week, the Government has released a new consultation paper on adviser education standards (see: New Pathway for Experienced Advisers…). While the paper proposes the streamlining of core knowledge areas in approved degrees from 11 to five, it does not address the issue referenced on several occasions earlier this year by Financial Services Minister, Stephen Jones, that there would need to be specialist learning and specialists streams implemented within future adviser qualifications recognitions (see: Future Exams, Qualifications Based on Advice Streams?).

While the Government is yet to make any specific announcements, our poll says more than four in five advisers (82% as we go to press) support the idea of specialist learning streams in future. Does this reflect your view, or do you have a different take on this question? Our poll remains open for another week and we welcome your thoughts…
