MetLife Launches Claim Tracker

MetLife has launched a digital claims tracking service for members of group life schemes and has signed its first superannuation fund to the service.

The digital service, which is available via desktop, tablet and mobile devices, connects directly to MetLife’s claims system and will allow claimants to check the status of their claim, receive updates from MetLife, complete tasks, upload information and access contact details.

MetLife stated the service was developed in collaboration with recent claimants and has been initially been launched with MTAA Super but a number of other large super funds have expressed interest in the service.

MetLife, Director Customer Strategy and Innovation, Jeremy Simmons said the collaboration found that claimants had a ‘largely positive experience’ and the claims tracker would complement the work of the claims team.

“While clarity and efficiency are key benefits of the digital claims tracker, it’s ultimately about providing choice. Many claimants are going through difficult times, and what came through strongly when we tested the digital claims tracker was the value they place on being able to keep up to speed with their claims process, even on days when they don’t feel like picking up a phone and speaking with someone,” Simmons said.
