The AFA has announced the finalists for its Adviser of the Year and the Practice of the Year Awards with three states featured highly among those named.
The Association also released the names of the finalists for its Rising Star of the Year Award and will announce the winners of all its annual awards at the AFA 2018 National Adviser Conference in Queensland in October.
The Adviser of the Year Award Finalists are:
- Tom Dawe, Capital Focused, QLD
- Hugh Robertson, Centaur Financial Services, QLD
- Elliot Watson, Elliot Watson Financial Planning, NSW
Advisers nominated for this award were measured against several criteria in line with the Campus AFA curriculum learning pillars: Adviser Performance, Practice Performance, Professionalism and Leadership and Quality Advice Strategy.
The Practice of the Year Award Finalists are:
Practices nominated for this award were assessed against four cornerstones of business success: Planning and Governance, Operational Excellence, People and Performance and Marketing.
The finalists for the Rising Star of the Year Award, supported by ANZ, are:
- Rachael Bursell – Finance Your Future
- Andrew Debono – Announcer Group
- Sam Jewell – Rising Tide Financial Services
- Jacinta Martin – Altitude Financial Management
- Rebecca Pritchard – Wealth Enhancers
- Ryan Skeen – Zella
The Rising Star Award recognises emerging talent in the financial advice industry who provide quality advice, excellence in client experience, contribute to the financial literacy of their clients and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
AFA Chief Executive, Phil Kewin said, “It was a hard task to pick only six finalists from such a strong group of applications. They have all shown exceptional work with clients and are all innovating in their practices to provide quality advice.”
