Aviva SME Professionals Program

Aviva is set to commence its second series of education programs designed to assist advisers deliver ‘…superior risk advice and solutions’ for the small to medium enterprise (SME) market.

The company’s SME Professionals Program is being offered to experienced advisers who:

  • Work within the SME market, or
  • Are looking to expand into the SME market, or
  • Have access to centres of influence such as accountants, brokers and other professionals consulting to the SME segment
“…the focus of the program is on process, rather than product…”

According to Aviva’s National Distribution Development Manager – Protection, Russell Hannah, the focus of the program is on process, rather than product, and was developed in response to a Business Health survey released earlier this year which revealed that many SME clients were in need of an end to end advice process that addressed all aspects of business contingency planning.

Aviva has worked with a number of external technical experts in building this program across the key areas of:

  1. Legal
  2. Accounting
  3. SME consulting/advice

At the completion of the two-day program, Aviva will be looking to have provided the adviser with a framework that will enable them to ‘project manage’ the end to end process of  advice solutions for their SME clients, with key value adds including:

  • Centre of Influence development and support
  • Access to leading SME industry specialists
  • ‘Cutting edge’ adviser support tools

Participating in this program offers access to what Aviva refers to as a ‘groundbreaking’ reinsurance arrangement it has developed with reinsurer RGA, which includes a jointly developed risk fact find solution that enables access to ‘… some of the highest levels of cover in the market without the need to provide supporting financial evidence.”

The SME Professionals Program was successfully piloted by Aviva earlier this year, with the full roll out of the subsidised programs to take place across the country in August and September.
