There have been key dealer group appointments announced this week by Commonwealth Financial Planning, BT Financial Group and Macquarie Private Wealth:

Commomwealth Financial Planning

Colonial First State has appointed Neil Younger as its General Manager Commonwealth Financial Planning.

Mr Younger moves to Commonwealth FP from BT Financial Group, where he worked since 1999, initially as a BDM for Asgard before progressing through the ranks to head up BT’s Securitor and Magnitude dealer groups.  His appointment commences in October.

BT Financial Group

Mr Younger’s replacement as Head of Dealer Groups at BT has already been filled by Matthew Englund.  Mr Englund’s is an internal appointment, where he most recently headed the practice management team for BT’s advice businesses, including Westpac Financial Planning, St. George Financial Planning, Securitor and Magnitude.

BT advises that Warren Dunne, National Head of Operations, Advice has been appointed to replace Mr Englund in an acting capacity.

Macquarie Private Wealth

Meanwhile, Macquarie Private Wealth (MPW) has also announced new risk appointments.  Three new insurance specialists will expand the dealer group’s insurance advice business in Queensland and Victoria.

Joining the team in Melbourne are Nancy Peat and Lee Aylward, while Brisbane-based Rayya Afkhamiwill now represent Macquarie Private Wealth as it expands its presence into Queensland.

Each appointee will report to Patrick Dieter, MPW’s Head of Insurance, who commented that the volatility experienced in the financial markets during the past two years has resulted in investors placing a stronger emphasis on insurance:

… we are seeing an increased need among our clients for risk advice

“As a result, we are seeing an increased need among our clients for risk advice and are expanding our team to meet this demand…what we are hearing now are more requests for holistic wealth protection strategies,” said Mr Dieter.
