Mr Vanderwolf’s nomination and eventual appointment to the five-person MDRT Executive Committee, which includes its Immediate Past President, means he will become Australia’s first global MDRT President in 2018/19.

He has been an adviser for 33 years and is a 27-year MDRT member, during which time he has contributed to many aspects of the organisation’s operations and services. Mr Vanderwolf is based in Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, where he is Managing Director of Rothgard Financial Partners, a full-service financial planning practice.

This is an amazing recognition of the value of Australian advisers…

MDRT Oceania chair, Ross Hultgren, commented “This is an amazing recognition of the value of Australian advisers in the international arena of Financial Services.”

Mr Hultgren continued, “We have a strong adviser base in a very mature market place. Our understanding of both compliance requirements and consumer needs has seen Australian advisers become a sought after resource to other countries – offering values and models that ensure ongoing sustainability.”

Mr Vanderwolf’s nomination will be confirmed at the MDRT annual general meeting later this year, and he will be making a keynote address to delegates at the 2015 MDRT Annual Meeting, taking place in New Orleans from June 14 – 17.

Originally formed in the US in 1927, MDRT is now a global organisation of financial advisers, boasting 42,000 members across 71 countries.
