SCOR Global Life Australia has announced the appointment of well-known industry veteran, Gavin Pearce, as its incoming Board Chair.
In a release announcing his appointment the reinsurer describes Pearce as having had “…a stellar career” including over 40 years of financial services experience across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Pearce was most recently Chief Operating Officer, Life and Investments at Zurich Australia until his retirement last month, prior to which he spent over 10 years with ANZ Bank – including as part of the former ING Australia and OnePath businesses – which culminated in his role as Managing Director, Insurance, for ANZ Wealth.
“I am excited and feel privileged to take over this role at a pivotal time for the life (re)insurance industry in Australia,” said Pearce, who added that SCOR’s purpose in supporting the health of its customers and the broader population, along with its drive to continuously improve the customer journey resonate very strongly with him.
SCOR advises Pearce is due to commence as its Australian Chairman on 28th June, subject to necessary approvals.
