The Australasian Life Underwriting and Claims Association has announced the finalists for the 7th Annual ALUCA Life Insurance Excellence Awards.
The association says a high calibre of nominations were received from across the life insurance industry for exceptional work delivered throughout the 2023 calendar year. All submissions were judged by industry leaders from various disciplines.
Winners for each award category will be announced at ALUCA’s Life Insurance Excellence Awards night on Thursday 25 July in Sydney.
The finalists for each of the Life Insurance Excellence Award categories are:
Life Insurance Excellence Leadership Award
ALUCA says this award acknowledges an individual life insurance leader who has demonstrated excellence by driving successful life insurance strategies with strong customer outcomes and has been a people leader for at least six years.

Life Insurance Excellence Professional Award
This award recognises an individual life insurance professional who has demonstrated excellence via their achievement of key business and customer outcomes. This could be in claims, underwriting, rehabilitation or life insurance professional services such as forensic accounting and legal services.

Life Insurance Excellence Rising Star Award
Recognises a life insurance individual with less than three years in the life insurance industry who has demonstrated excellence in a life insurance claims, underwriting or rehabilitation, over and above business-as-usual.

- Christie Meyrick – Senior Case Manager at MetLife Australia

Life Insurance Excellence David Mico Industry Award
This special award is presented to an ALUCA member who has actively been involved in challenging and promoting the life insurance industry. This could be volunteering at ALUCA, being part of a life insurance industry group, and/or excelling in their ongoing professional development specific to life insurance. The award is open to all life insurance industry professionals.
