Our latest poll is seeking to ascertain what percentage of your clients has a will in place.
The question stems from our report highlighting a presentation given at the 2025 MDRT Annual Meeting by Welsh adviser Craig Palfrey outlining the seven reasons he uses to convince his clients that they do indeed need a will, in which he notes that half of clients are unlikely to have one (see: Seven Reasons Clients Need a Will).
It was part of a wider presentation which encouraged advisers to be part of client’s estate planning journey partly as a way to engage with their client’s children. (see: Strategies to Maximise Client Engagement).
In suggesting advisers hold educational client briefings at least twice a year, Palfrey, of Penguin Wealth, mooted a briefing session on the top seven mistakes people make in their wills.
His presentation also included seven very amusing reasons why clients should not have a will including the clincher: “I have reliable information that I am never ever going to die.”
So, with that in mind, we are canvassing your views on the percentage of your clients who already have a will. And if they don’t, or won’t, are you working with them to remedy that situation?
We’re interested to learn your thoughts and will report back next week…
