Insurers Need to Get Back to Basics – Poll Result

0
Life insurers need to get back to basics and develop a clearer set of definitions around what TPD insurance is designed to cover.
  • Agree (88%)
  • Disagree (8%)
  • Not sure (4%)

The result of our latest poll clearly indicates that most respondents believe life insurers need to get back to basics when it comes to product design.

Our poll followed one of the debates in our Zurich Sustainability Round Table video series where panelists debated the surge in mental health-linked TPD claims. While it’s not the only issue facing the sector, most agreed it’s a significant one.

During the debate Zurich’s Product Owner, Zurich Propositions, Ioana Logan, said  insurance can only be sustainable, affordable, and accessible if it is taken back to first principles. And those voting in our poll appear to agree.

With one week to go before this poll closes, the interim result shows 81% agree insurers need to get back to basics, 13% disagree, and 6% aren’t sure.
