Launch of New CPD Platform for Advisers

A new CPD platform for financial advisers and their licensees, Accrue CPD, has just been launched.

The company says the platform means financial advisers can keep their CPD record up-to-date throughout the year, rather than piecing the record together in the final weeks, noting it is a platform built by an adviser for advisers.

Ivan Jones …advisers do the learning all year, and much of it never gets recorded.

“Every adviser knows the end-of-year rush,” says the firm’s founder, Ivan Jones, who is also Executive Director and founder of Loyalty Financial Group.

“You do the learning all year, and much of it never gets recorded: the reading that lands in your inbox every day, and the certificate that turns up a fortnight after the webinar. I built Accrue to take the friction out of capturing it, so the scramble at the end of the year disappears.”

He says that having been a licensee responsible manager for more than 20 years, he also knows what a licensee needs to see. “A complete record with the evidence behind it, available whenever it is asked for. Accrue works alongside the licensee’s own CPD policy and systems.”

The platform has been in daily use by a selection of advisers since May, and their feedback has shaped the platform ahead of the launch.

In promoting its offer the company says it will allow advisers to:

  • Capture learning in moments. Add an article they have read, or upload a certificate when it arrives, and Accrue CPD records it, classifies it against the CPD areas and keeps the evidence with it
  • Know where they stand on any day of the year, against the 40-hour requirement and each category minimum
  • Produce a complete, evidenced record whenever it is needed, with reporting on demand for advisers and their licensees

Risk Hub founder, Marc Fabris, says his company has followed Accrue CPD’s progress closely and can see real value in it for advisers:

“The learning that slips through the cracks is usually the small stuff: a short article, a product update, a note on a claims trend. Accrue makes that learning count. Risk Hub will be supporting the platform with risk-focused material that advisers can read and record in moments,” he says.

The Accrue CPD adviser dashboard shows CPD hours to date against the 40-hour annual requirement, the run-rate, and the CPD areas where the adviser is still short.
