AMP Restructure Leads to Advice, Insurance Exec Departures

AMP has announced a restructure of its senior management team which has resulted in the departure of its head of advice businesses, Rob Caprioli and the head of life insurance business, Pauline Blight-Johnston.

Caprioli, who held the title of Group Executive, Advice and Banking will be replaced by current Managing Director, New Zealand Jack Regan who will have the new title of Group Executive, Advice and New Zealand.

Regan, who joined AMP in 2002 and was appointed Managing Director of New Zealand  Financial Services in 2007, will oversee all of AMP’s advice businesses – AMP Advice, AMP Financial Planning, AMP Horizons Academy and practice, Hillross and Charter Financial Planning – and will also retain responsibility for the management of AMP New Zealand.

Blight-Johnson, who was Group Executive, Insurance, Super and Risk Management will be replaced by the current Director, Insurance Megan Beer as Group Executive, Insurance with all insurance businesses reporting through to Beer, who joined AMP in February 2014 in her current role after previous role with NAB, MLC and Tower.

Current Chief Customer Officer, Paul Sainsbury has been named as Group Executive, Wealth Solutions and Customer which is a new division which will cover customer, wealth management and product solutions.

Sainsbury joined AMP in 2000 and has held a number of roles and was appointed Chief Customer Officer in April 2013 during which he was responsible for a range of areas including group and customer strategies, marketing, business development and new ventures.

The leadership changes will be effective from 1 January 2017 with AMP Chief Executive, Craig Meller stating the new structure would delivers sharper focus on the performance of the core Australian businesses and clearer accountability for driving short and long-term growth.
