IFSA has released further details about the launch of its Lifewise campaign.

The Lifewise campaign is an important initiative for the Australian life insurance industry because it unites all insurers, through IFSA, to bring the message about the value of life insurance into the homes of millions of Australians.

The Lifewise logo will become the symbol of the campaign, which will be officially launched in Sydney on Friday 1st May.

IFSA advises that Lifewise has been developed from the belief that everyone should make a conscious and informed decision about whether or not to take out insurance, and then ensure they obtain the right level of cover.

Through the Lifewise campaign, IFSA aims to provide the tools that will help Australians:

  1. Understand the risks they face
  2. How much insurance they need
  3. How they can access it

The campaign itself comprises four key elements:

  1. Education
  2. Partnerships (IFSA working with life insurance industry and other stakeholders)
  3. Public relations and marketing
  4. Research

The representative body has set up a Resource Centre on its website for advisers, dealer groups and any other organisations.  The resources presently comprise two presentations that can be used by anyone – individuals or groups, to communicate the message of the importance of insurance to a substantially underinsured population:

Individuals and groups can also sign on as supporters of the Lifewise initiative:

riskinfo will report on further elements of the campaign programme itself, as details are released.

In the mean time, if you wish to comment on any aspect of this campaign and its aims, please take the opportunity to have your say in our new Comments section at the end of this article.
