FPA Names New CEO

Senior NAB exec, Mark Rantall (CFP), has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Mr Rantall has 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry.  He was Manging Director of planning firm Godfrey Pembroke between 2003 and 2008 and most recently has been Dean of Advice at The NAB Academy.

Following the announcement of his appointment, Mr Rantall noted the significant changes taking place within the financial services industry and his commitment to ensuring the FPA continues to lead from the front and set the agenda:

“The real issues moving forward centre around maintaining and building professionalism, trust and transparency and I am keen to continue to deal with these issues and build a strong dialogue between members and government,” he said.

In welcoming Mr Rantall to the FPA’s top job, FPA Chair, Julie Berry, said “Mark is highly qualified and respected within the profession and he has a wealth of experience working with financial planning practices of all sizes over the last 25 years.”

Association of Financial Advisers CEO, Richard Klipin, also welcomed Mr Rantall’s appointment, describing him as an experienced and seasoned financial services executive: “Mr Rantall will bring great clarity and focus to his role as the FPA’s new CEO.  We look forward to a strong and positive relationship with Mark and hope we can continue to collaborate on key issues impacting Australian financial advisers,” said Mr Klipin.

Ms Berry concluded, “Mark has joined the FPA at a crucial time for the profession. We have just seen one the largest industry shake ups in recent years, in the form of the Future of Financial Advice reforms, and we are pleased to have someone of his immense experience to assist the Board, executive and members in leading the way.”
