AMP ‘New Look’ Risk Offer

AMP will launch a major new insurance product and services package later this month, intended to improve both the adviser and the customer experience of AMP’s risk process.

AMP says its ‘new look’ offer will include product and service enhancements aiming to give advisers choice and flexibility, including:

A new claims and underwriting concierge service
  • A new claims and underwriting concierge service
  • An electronic underwriting pre-assessment service
  • AMP arranged medicals
  • Reduction in required signatures
  • Product enhancements to its retail insurance range

The claims and underwriting concierge service will place a focus on providing the adviser and their client with direct access to a specific underwriter or claims case manager who will be dedicated to the case from pre-assessment through to completion of the underwriting or claims process.

AMP’s Director of Wealth Protection Products, Michael Paff, said lodging and completing claims and underwriting paper work can be difficult and daunting and the concierge service will guide advisers and their clients through the process.

The insurer is also launching an electronic underwriting pre-assessment service, intended to provide as early an indication as possible of what the eventual underwriting outcome may be.

To assist with reducing delays and costs, AMP says its new package of services will include arranging medicals and blood tests directly with the insured and the health provider, with the insurer also committing to reduce the number of client signatures required on applications and health statements.

Responding to planner feedback that customers often see trauma insurance as complicated and are not able to afford the level of cover they require, Mr Paff said AMP has re-designed its trauma products with flexible benefit options and choice of coverage, including a separation of full and partial benefits.  This redesign will include the addition of a new trauma product into AMP’s range, called Trauma Optimum.

Discounted premium alternatives will also be offered for clients with certain health conditions that may normally be declined.

AMP’s new insurance offer will go live on 24 May and will be launched to advisers in a series of seminars across all states, commencing in Perth on 11 May.  riskinfo will report further details following the completion of the seminar series.
