FPA Helps Advisers Build Client Relationships

The FPA has announced the release of an online program to help financial planners navigate the early trust building, engagement phase of their relationship with clients.

“The Rules of Client Engagement” program is designed to help advisers communicate and deliver a clear value proposition to new clients in a way that builds long lasting trust.  The FPA says the program demonstrates its ongoing commitment to supporting financial planners through the transition to fee for service.

Sue Viskovic, Managing Director of Elixir Consulting and FPA WA Chapter Chair, assisted with the development of the program:

“This last decade has seen the financial planning industry swing away from sales to a strong compliance culture,” Ms Viskovic said, adding:

“Unfortunately this shift has to come to the detriment of client communication and relationship skills that are necessary for great advice.”

“This program explores the ‘new world’ of how to engage well with clients and how to enhance adviser skills to build a solid foundation of trust and respect,” she said.

The Rules of Client Engagement is the latest seminar offered as part of the FPA’s CPD Live Online program. Participants can access the live seminar via a broadband connection and interact directly with the presenter throughout the session. The seminar takes approximately two hours to complete and participants will receive two FPA accredited CPD points.
