Midwinter Buys AdviserTECH

Midwinter Advice Solutions (Midwinter) has purchased online technical manual, AdviserTECH, from Zurich Financial Services.

The AdviserTECH service provides advisers with access to key technical resources and addresses complex planning and strategy issues.  It helps advisers answer questions in relation to superannuation, retirement, risk insurance, estate planning and other tax issues.

Midwinter says it has been enhancing the AdviserTech technical and strategy content and will be launching the updated version of the service later this month.

Resources for the Insurance Planner module of the service will cover technical and strategy information on Life, TPD, Trauma, Income Protection (Total Salary Continuance), Whole of Life/Endowment/Insurance Bonds, Buy/Sell Agreements, Business Insurance, Children’s Insurance Policies and Insurance and super).

Midwinter advises there is also a specific section relating to Insurance within Super, which includes:

  • Overview
  • What type of insurance is available through superannuation?
  • Why fund insurance via super?
  • What are the advantages in funding insurance inside or outside super?
  • What are some of the traps in purchasing insurance through super?
  • To whom is the insurance benefit paid?

Midwinter General Manager of Strategy & Technical Services, Matthew Esler, also announced the appointment of Kate Andersonto the role of Head of Technical Services.  Ms Anderson, who was formerly a member of Zurich’s Technical Services team, joined Midwinter to oversee the ongoing development of AdviserTECH.

“Midwinter understands the need for quality technical and financial planning strategy resources in this ever changing financial services landscape,” said Mr Esler, adding that Midwinter’s technical team will be devising and developing strategy that will be incorporated into Midwinter’s software – enabling its financial planners to effectively implement those strategies for their clients.
