Asteron has launched a new PDS for its Lifeguard range, the fifth in the Lifeguard series.
Incorporating a range of improvements to its Income Protection, TPD and Recovery products, key enhancements highlighted by Asteron include:
Income Advantage, Income Protector and Income Shield
- Waiting period conversion for employment changes
- Maximum monthly benefit increase – Indemnity and Agreed Value
Income Protector and Income Shield
- Improved Recurring Disability Benefit
- No Workers’ Compensation Payment Offset for professional and clerical clients
- Improved method of calculating Pre-Disability Income
- More flexibility whilst overseas for professional and clerical clients
TPD
- The requirements for buying TPD Top Up have been relaxed
- Waiting period has been reduced from six to three months, with further concessions for specific medical conditions
Recovery
- Heart attack definition clarified
- Cancer definition improved
- New medical condition introduced
This product upgrade follows the introduction on 1 November of a range of underwriting enhancements by Asteron, including the elimination of mandatory Personal Medical Attendant’s Reports across its range of insurance products (see Asteron Market First – Eliminating PMARs).
