Former CommInsure manager Simon Harris has been appointed to the role of Executive Manager with Guardian Financial Planning (Guardian).
Reporting to Asteron’s Executive General Manager Jordan Hawke, Mr Harris will be an integral part of the management team, responsible for leading Guardian’s strategy to reposition the group as a leading AFSL (Authorised Financial Services Licensee) under Suncorp Life, as well as driving Guardian’s offer for existing advisers, and those in the broader market.
Mr Hawke said: “Guardian was established in line with the changing needs of the market and advisers. As part of Suncorp Life’s strategy to be the number one risk insurer to IFAs, we recognise the importance of providing an AFSL offer to the marketplace – and Guardian will form a key component of that strategy.
“Simon’s appointment will help to elevate Guardian’s offer in Australia. He will work closely with our current advisers to assist them to grow successful businesses, and to recognise the importance of relationships and the value they bring to the Guardian group.”
Sydeny-based Mr Harris will commence in his new role from 10 January 2011.
