In a move designed to offer more choice for advisers and clients, Asteron has announced it has secured a placement for elements of its retail risk products range within the Colonial First State FirstChoice superannuation platform.
Asteron’s Executive General Manager, Jordan Hawke, told riskinfo the appointment of Asteron to the FirstChoice platform represents the first external, non-aligned, retail insurance brand to link with the major platforms.
Mr Hawke stressed the benefit of ‘choice’ that would be made available to advisers and their clients (being able to access both Asteron and CommInsure insurance solutions via their FirstChoice superannuation accounts) at a time where more consumers are following recommendations from advice-based businesses for insurance solutions that involve tax effective structures through superannuation.
Asteron advises the three FirstChoice superannuation accounts that will now offer Asteron retail insurance options are:
- FirstChoice Personal Super
- FirstChoice Wholesale Personal Super
- FirstChoice Employer Super
The Asteron policies available through these FirstChoice super accounts include:
- Life Cover Super
- Life Cover and TPD Super
- Income Shield Super
