PIS Restructures for Risk

Professional Investment Services (PIS) says its latest recruitment initiative is designed to generate life insurance opportunities for advisers.

The dealer group has announced it will appoint Risk Practice Development Managers in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

“This new initiative will substantially strengthen and support risk focused practices at a state level as well as giving regional oversight and strategy through Peter Nielsen and David Spiteri in VIC/TAS, SA and WA,” said Head of Risk, Mark Stubbings.

“General insurance brokers, financial planners and accountants are much more aware of the consumer benefits of focused and specialised life insurance advice,” he added.

This latest initiative follows the recent announcement that PIS founder, Robbie Bennetts, has moved to a part-time role within the organisation.

One of Mr Bennetts’ responsibilities will be to manage the group’s conference program, which he says is used as a fundraising forum.

“Since its 1996 inception, the group has embraced a culture of giving back to the communities in which it operates through charitable donations,” Mr Bennetts said.

At PIS’ April Conference $4,200 was raised through fines, which will be donated to the Salvation Army to aid the victims of natural disasters.  The group says the fines were handed out to delegates who committed light-hearted misdemeanours throughout the conference, such as reading text messages during key note speeches.
