MLC has appointed Megan Beer to the role of General Manager Group Insurance.

Ms Beer has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including her most recent role as Head of Finance with MLC Insurance.

Executive General Manager of Insurance, Duncan West, said: “We are delighted to have Megan as our GM of Group Insurance for MLC.  Her extensive financial knowledge combined with her industry experience will be a stunning addition to the team.”

“We have experienced strong growth in our group insurance business in recent times and we look forward to building on that momentum,” he added.

Paul Barrett, ANZ General Manager of Advice and Distribution, has announced the final appointment to his executive team.

Neil Younger has accepted the role of Head of Practice Based Financial Planning.  Mr Younger, previously the General Manager for Commonwealth Financial Planning, will be responsible for ANZ Wealth’s aligned dealer groups: RI Advice, Financial Services Partners and Millennium3.

Speaking about the appointment Mr Barrett said: “Neil’s experience will be invaluable in assisting our licensees navigate their way through the impending Future of Financial Advice legislation.”

TAL

TAL has boosted its retail insurance sales team with the appointment of Beau Riley as National Dealership Manager and Marcus O’Sullivan as Queensland State Sales Manager.

Mr Riley, who was previously Head of Retail Business Development at RGA, will be responsible for managing TAL’s dealer group partnerships.  Mr O’Sullivan will have carriage of Queensland-based sales activity.  He previously held the role of National Manager for Risk at BT Dealer Groups.

Brett Clark, TAL’s CEO for Retail Life, said the appointments form part of TAL’s sales strategy to provide responsive and personalised service to its distribution partners.

“Our partnership model with advisers is multi-dimensional. The calibre and performance of our sales and relationship team is a key component of this,” Mr Clark said.
