Zurich Financial Services Australia has appointed a former claims manager with AIA and ING as its new Head of Life Insurance Claims.
The life insurer named Sheriff Hamza, who was previously National Group Claims Manager at AIA Australia, to the role with the appointment taking effect from early March.
Hamza, who has more than 15 years in retail and group claims experience, will be responsible for the strategic direction, policy, and governance of claims for Zurich’s Australian life and investments business.
Zurich, Life and Investments Chief Operating Officer, Phil Anderson said Zurich had been recognised “for the equity, empathy and transparency that are the hallmarks of our life insurance claims philosophy”.
“Sheriff shares that philosophy and also brings a wealth of industry knowledge that can help us deliver an even better claims experience for customers and advisers alike.”
