NSW advisers and advice practices have dominated the list of the 2016 grand finalists in the Association of Financial Advisers Adviser of the Year and Practice of the Year Awards.

All three grand finalists in the 2016 AFA Adviser of the Year Award hail from NSW, as do two of the three grand finalists in the Association’s Practice of the Year Award.

The AFA made the announcement in conjunction with Zurich, which has been a supporter of the Award since it was first launched as a joint initiative between the two groups in 2003, as well as supporting the Practice of the Year Award which began three years ago.

…and the grand finalists for the 2016 Practice of the Year Award are:

Henderson Maxwell, NSW – Sam Henderson

Mediq Financial Services, VIC – Ravi Agarwal

Navwealth Financial Group, NSW – Craig Banning

Finalists in both awards were chosen following a rigorous assessment process, according to AFA Chief Executive, Brad Fox, who said each adviser and practice was judged on their education, experience and contribution to the industry and the processes used to deliver a consistent customer experience.

“The Awards truly represent the cream of the crop, as evaluated by third party testing and robust business analysis,” Fox said.

“We know each year it is getting more difficult for great practitioners and practices to stand out from the crowd because the standard in our industry continues to be both raised and met. This is a great reflection of the desire in our industry to adapt and change,” he said.

Zurich Life and Investments CEO Tim Bailey added that “As Australia’s premier advice awards, we continue to see finalists who are the true innovators and leaders amongst their peers. The calibre this year is once again exceptional, and proves that the advice profession remains vibrant, forward looking, and well placed to navigate the evolving landscape.”

The winners of both Awards will be announced at a gala event on the final night of the AFA National Conference in Canberra on 7th October.
