AMP has restructured its advice businesses moving all AMP branded operations into one unit and establishing separate governance functions for each advice business.

As part of the restructure each licensee would also have its own independent board with a new Channel Strategy and Services team to be created to assist in streamlining advice services.

AMP said the restructure had led to changes in leadership with Michael Guggenheimer appointed as Executive Director Advice, moving from his role as Hillross Financial Services Managing Director, and given oversight of the establishment of the licensee boards and governance functions.

Guggenheimer will be succeeded at Hillross by newly-appointed Managing Director, Dean Thomas who moves across from his role of Director of Product Strategy and Services.

Neil Swindells has been appointed Managing Director for Charter while Chris Digby has been appointed Managing Director of SMSF Advice and Jigsaw, moving across from his role of Head of Financial Planning – NSW for Hillross. AMP Transformation Director, Dave Akers has been named as Director, Channel Strategy and Services.

Akers succeeds Michael Paff who has been appointed as Managing Director for the integrated unit which will house AMP Financial Planning, AMP Advice, AMP Horizons and AMP Direct.

AMP Group Executive Advice, Jack Regan said the group recognised the value in the advice businesses and the new operating structure would provide better support and growth to its adviser network.
