In confirming the completion of its acquisition of Suncorp’s life insurance business, TAL has announced the appointment of Andrew Howard to head its transition team.
In the newly-created role of Chief Commercial Officer, Howard, who comes to TAL from his position of Interim CEO at super fund REST, will be responsible for the performance of the former Suncorp Australian life business as well as supporting former Suncorp staff in their transition to TAL.
In a separate message to advisers, TAL Group CEO and MD, Brett Clark, confirmed that ‘at this time’, TAL will be maintaining the Asteron brand on-sale “…and we look forward to enhancing the already strong existing Asteron relationships with IFAs, Dealer Groups and Institutional APLs and Platforms.
Clark also told advisers this acquisition will also deliver to the insurer a long-term relationship with the Suncorp Group including a portfolio of well-established Australian brands including: Suncorp, AAMI, APIA and GIO.
