1,697 advisers sat the September 2019 FASEA exams, tripling the 579 who braved the first exam series in June – and the December numbers are already bigger.

FASEA said the September exam series was held in 15 centres across Australia, where the 1,697 advisers sat the exam over 79 sessions.

The Authority says the December 2019 exam series will be held in 19 centres from 5 – 9 December and that registrations for this exam series will close on 8 November.  It has also advised more than 2,430 advisers have already registered for the December exam series.

Anecdotal feedback to Riskinfo, reinforced by comments made by advisers responding to our reporting, suggests that that difficulty level applied to the September 2019 exam series was ramped up, compared with the standards that applied to the June 2019 series, which resulted in a pass rate in excess of 90 percent (see: FASEA Confirms 90+% Advisers Pass First Exam Series).

The Authority has also released details for its February and April 2020 exam series:

FASEA says the results for the September exam series will be released in mid-November 2019, following what it says will be a comprehensive marking approach and analysis.
