Eligible advisers will now have remote access to the FASEA Financial Adviser Exam following the launch of FASEA’s remote proctoring solution.
The authority says in a statement that this remote proctoring solution will be available for the February exam and all subsequent exams.
It notes that for information on registering and sitting the exam via the remote proctoring solution, advisers can download the Remote Proctoring Step-by-Step Guide.
FASEA says it continues to work closely with ACER to ensure exam processes are streamlined, accessible and effective and exam sitting opportunities are optimised.
More than 1,700 advisers have already registered for the February exam…
As to the December exam, FASEA says a total of 2981 advisers sat the exam over 95 sessions held in 19 centres across Australia from 5 December to 9 December 2019.
“The results for the December exam will be released by the end of January 2020 following a comprehensive marking approach and analysis.”
In turn, the February exam will be held in 17 centres across Australia from 13 February to 18 February.
The authority says that in addition to metropolitan locations, regional centres for the February sitting are:
- Gold Coast
- Wollongong
- Cairns
- Ballarat
- Launceston
- Port Macquarie
- Traralgon
- Tamworth
- Townsville
- Newcastle
It says that registrations for the February exam are open and will close on 24 January 2020. More than 1,700 advisers have already registered for the February exam.
The authority’s update also includes details on the April and June exams with the April exam to be held in 18 centres across Australia from 2 April to 7 April.
It states that in addition to metropolitan locations, regional centres for the April sitting are:
- Townsville
- Gosford
- Sunshine Coast
- Geelong
- Toowoomba
- Bunbury
- Mackay
- Geraldton
- Wagga Wagga
- Coffs Harbour
“Registrations are now open for the April exam and will close on 13 March 2020. More than 140 advisers have already registered for the April exam.”
Meanwhile the dates and venues have been finalised for the June 2020 sitting of the FASEA exam which will be held in 18 centres across Australia from 11 June 2020 to 16 June 2020, FASEA says.
The regional centres for the June sitting are:

- Cairns
- Bendigo
- Albury/Wodonga
- Rockhampton
- Port Macquarie
- Orange
Registration for the June exam will open on 2 March 2020 and close 22 May 2020.
The authority says that to help in preparing for the exam, candidates can access:
- FASEA FG003 FASEA Exam Preparation Guidance, which includes the detailed curriculum and a suggested reading list. The reading list has been recently updated.
- The candidate video
- The FG004 Financial Adviser Exam Practice Questions v3. In addition, advisers who have registered for the exam have access to an online version of the practice questions accessible via their candidate registration account.
