TAL has  launched the 2021 prospectus for its adviser education programme, the TAL Risk Academy.

A statement from the insurer says that the risk academy, now in its seventh year, “…supports advisers’ education goals by offering flexible learning pathways that suit advisers at every stage of their career”.

TAL says the 2021 programme has been redesigned to provide a range of virtual, on-demand and face-to-face courses, from entry-level  foundation courses through to advanced, technical topics for more experienced advisers.

Beau Riley …the 2021 programme offers more than 65 on-demand courses.

It says that the majority of the courses are free of charge, aside from the Risk Academy Masterclasses, which incur a $55 fee that TAL donates to the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN) to help Australians from lower socio-economic backgrounds access quality education. TAL Head of Licensees and Partnerships, Beau Riley, says that this year will see more industry and legislative changes come into effect and that TAL is  “…committed to working in partnership with advisers to navigate those changes successfully and confidently”.

“Whether it’s guiding advisers through the FASEA Exam, the Code of Ethics or the changes coming to income protection, the personalised education …delivered through the courses and educators will provide comprehensive education that meets advisers’ needs and helps them achieve their goals,” he says.

The 2021 programme offers more than 65 on-demand courses, which advisers can review as many times as they like, even once they have completed the course.

Twenty new dates have been added for the FASEA Exam Masterclasses and 30 new or refreshed courses have been added to the programme this year.

The insurer says the courses are grouped into three main areas:

  • Advice skills and training: Courses focused on entry-level to advanced advice strategies, technical expertise and client engagement skills
  • Business management: Courses focused on strategy and marketing to help advisers to grow their business and help advisers navigate their Professional Year or mentor a Professional Year candidate
  • Education and professionalism: Courses focused on supporting advisers with the latest industry requirements, from the FASEA exam to the Code of Ethics.

Since the launch of the academy in 2015, TAL has had more than 65,000 course enrolments and raised more than $632,000 for the ABCN.
