FSC Appoints Acting CEO

The Financial Services Council has appointed Blake Briggs as its Acting CEO, as outgoing chief executive Sally Loane steps down after seven years leading the industry association.

FSC Chairman, David Bryant, President, Pacific Region and CEO of Mercer Australia, said in a statement he was pleased to appoint Briggs as Acting CEO as the council completes the executive search process announced in October.

He says that as Deputy CEO Briggs has also led the FSC’s policy team and “…his appointment will ensure the FSC continues to be a strong advocate for the financial services industry and its consumers.”

Bryant also thanked Loane for her “…strong leadership for the FSC through a period of unprecedented change, driving its contribution to the development of positive policy and industry reform.”

Briggs was formerly the Head of Government Affairs for Wealth at Westpac, and previously led superannuation policy for the FSC.
